Militia day

Today there's a Militia (so we call the police) day in Russia. I wander if in other countries there are such so called professional holidays? Feedback is more then welcome!
So on such a day there are all kind of TV shows admiring brave and honest men in uniform. In this day everybody pretend that there's no such problems as corruption or violation of human rights. Well, I guess lots of these guys are really deserving a holiday. Or I hope so.
