The Western media has me confused again.

OK, so say Georgia did provocate and Russia was only standing up for S. Ossetia, then why are there reports of Russia advancing into actual Georgia territory? :/ I saw an interview with the Russian Deputy PM, that Sergei guy and he denied all this but he was a bit shaky doing so which made me doubt him a little. But at least they interviewed him, and he seemed to confirm most of what I'd been thinking (that Western media is being a bitch right now, anti-Russian etc.)
But it still does not explain reports of earlier Russian firing at Georgian troops from like a week ago or something, and also a lot of news channels over here are discussing Putin's dislike of Georgia wishing to join NATO/the EU, and the motive for this war is to stop him. What do you think of this, do you think there is truth in Russia wanting to control Georgia, get rid of the Georgian President and stop Georgia entering the EU?

First of all about our alleged entering to Georgia.
South Ossetia is legally a part of Georgia. But Georgians started destroying people there, so Russian army legally is on Georgia territory. But there's no Russian troops on proper Georgian territory. Anyway Russia holds UN mandate for keeping peace in South Ossetia.
Georgian troops, the remaining parts of it still firing at civilian convoys which try to take the rest of Tskhinvally population to safety in North Ossetia. Russian troops just counteracting.

Now about NATO situation.
Originally NATO was creates to counteract the Soviet Union. These days this is organization which exists to counteract who?
NATO is extending it's limits towards Russia. Is it surprising that we don't like it?
Russia doesn't need to control Georgia. Anyway Georgia is already controlled by the US, there are about 125 US citizens officially participating Georgian administration. We don't need any kind of control over Georgia, we just don't want genocide of Ossetian people.

I cry for the S Ossetia people. What Georgia has done to them is unforgivable. War is never the answer. I can't believe that so many people unquestioningly believe western media, when they are always lying.

I pray that no more innocent lives have to be sacrificed for greed.
